Fleurs of the Week: Wax Flowers & Forsynthia

Wax Flowers & Forsynthia

This week we stopped by our local flower market to choose seasonal and local blooms for our shop. We were inspired by the beauty of Wax Flowers (little white and pink flowers) and Forsynthia (yellow branches, also known as golden bells).

Early spring blooms symbolize anticipation, as its bare branches suddenly full with golden bell blooms spurred by the changing seasons.

Wax Flowers

These late winter blooms were discovered by French Botanist René Louiche Desfontaines in 1819. The leaves have a lemony sweet perfume, and they are symbolic of patience and lasting love.
