Fête: Fancy Feast

What happens when a quiet weekend out East turns into a packed (and hungry) house? Savvy host and hostesses don’t sweat it: they just call Hamptons Aristocrat. The impossibly chic catering company eschews tired hors-d’oeuvres and standard-issue steak dinners for bright, innovative farm-to-table meals, and no party is too small. From whipping together an al fresco meal for four, to full-service catering for a wedding of 500, owners Lexi Ritsch and Louisa Young can handle it all with aplomb.

And for those dinner parties that pop up out of nowhere, look into their drop-off menu, which can be reserved with as little as 36 hours’ notice. All the produce is farm-fresh, organic, and local, and dishes include perfect summer options like watermelon and feta salad with toasted coconut, chilled lobster tails with charred corn, and spicy short rib sliders. Plus, with a little more time to plan – 72 hours, to be exact – you can even reserve a private chef, who can handle anything from a casual barbecue to an elegant cocktail party.

Heading out to the beach? Impress your friends and order the lunch boxes, which boast options like a chicken and kale caesar panzanella salad to house-made maple granola bars. But BYOB: that’s bring your own blanket, of course.
