When a trip to Paris is not in the cards, the next best thing is to immerse yourself in la vie Française at uber-charming café Maman. With six locations in New York City and one in Toronto, it’s clear the mini-chain has found many urbanites hungry for its unique – and delicious – take on French cuisine and coffee.
This summer, keep an eye out for some of their Insta-worthy specials, like the beloved S’mores cookie made with rich Guittard chocolate and gooey toasted marshmallow, or summer spritzers like the refreshing basil lemonade and the “nutty nitro brew” made with honey syrup and almond milk.
Many of the outposts act as de facto community spaces, where neighbors meet up over decadent hot chocolates, kids pop by for cookies after school, and casual educational classes are hosted. Coming up on June 26 at their Soho location is a florals and photography workshop, where guests will learn not only the art of flower arranging, but how to capture it on film (or, you know, your iPhone).
